Tournament becomes challenge

The tournament format has been put a side for this year and will return for the April Champinships next year.

Instead there will be a challenge match between Patrick Gillett and a two member team that will be announed soon

Lake Field to host NYE tournament, uStream.tv to webcast

The Lake Field @ Mountain Creek will host the New Years Eve tournament. The ground has has previously hosted the 2006-07 Summer Series and various other matches.

NYE09 will be webcast on the Rockerball All Stars uStream.tv channel.

News Year Eve 2009 will feature a single elimination first to five tournement

The Rockerball New Years Eve event will feature four teams of three players each competing in a single elimination tournement. All four team places are available (to enter a team, click here).

Prize money will be awarded to the two finalists as well as Try-of-the-Day and Goal-of-the-Day.

 

General Description of Rockerball

Rockerball was created in 2002 as a mix of Rugby and association football (soccer).
The game is played on a field about the size of a netball court with in goal areas at each. Basic soccer rules are applied within the middle third of the field but players may handle the ball with their hands in the outer 2/3’s.
